Brownie Batter Hummus

This amazing brownie batter hummus is the perfect dip to have on your table this summer for all your parties! It comes together easily in a blender or food processor and requires less than a dozen ingredients.


  • Hummus:
  • 1 15 ounce can chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup [url href="https://www.amazon.com/Viva-Naturals-Organic-Non-GMO-Powder/dp/B00P6TUO5G/ref=sr_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1527285707&sr=8-9&keywords=cacao+powder" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"]cacao powder[/url] or sub cocoa powder*
  • 1/3 cup [url href="https://www.amazon.com/Artisana-Organics-Organic-Certified-Handmade/dp/B001RPT6O8?th=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"]cashew butter natural & unsalted[/url] (or sub other nut butter)
  • 3 dates pitted
  • 2 Tbsp. honey or sub other natural sweetener
  • 3 Tbsp. plant-based milk I used [url href="http://malkorganics.com/products/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"]cashew milk[/url]
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • pinch salt
  • 1 Tbsp. [url href="https://www.amazon.com/Viva-Naturals-Organic-Cacao-Nibs/dp/B00MGW81YM/ref=sr_1_5_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1527286701&sr=1-5&keywords=cacao+nibs" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"]cacao nibs[/url] optional—or sub chocolate chips
  • Sides:
  • apples sliced
  • zucchini sliced
  • fruit/veggie chips like banana chips, [url href="https://thrivemarket.com/p/food-should-taste-good-sweet-potato-tortilla-chips" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"]sweet potato chips[/url], [url href="https://thrivemarket.com/p/thrive-market-plantain-chips-lightly-salted" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"]plantain chips[/url], or [url href="https://thrivemarket.com/p/rhythm-naked-beet-chips" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"]beet chips[/url]

  • In a food processor or blender combine chickpeas, cacao powder, cashew butter, dates, honey, milk, vanilla and salt. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  • Transfer to a medium-sized serving bowl and sprinkle with cacao nibs if desired. Serve with fruit, zucchini (think chocolate zucchini bread), pretzels or crackers.
  • Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
